Is automatic restriction not a big deal? Choosing CDL schools.

    you obviously have either not been here long, (with only 8 posts) or never "lurked" here before you joined..

    way too many people here, just ain't that lucky as you.

    read the threads, on where some are located, and the lack of many local jobs.

    i live in a great area myself, along major highways, lots of industrial parks, lots of companies.......but i am retired

    jobs were a penny a dozen.......way better than a dime a dozen..

    not too many people are as lucky as i was either.

    having the automatic restriction (as some states have), can be a killer.

    (some states do not have that restriction)

    If a driver with an automatic restriction applied for a job with us and he really couldn't drive a stick I'd send him down the road to one of my competitors. He can tear up their equipment while he's learning.

    Short answer: yes. It makes no difference what transmission is in the truck. Everyone makes some ridiculous reason as to why it's better use a manual..I've driven both and the only difference I see is that an automatic is easier. Whether you drive a manual or auto, you still have to learn how to drive that particular truck.
