Is coasting in neutral bad

    Yes, and that is because the engine is off when the truck is being towed.

    if you're doing a road test yeah you're going to get failed for that np. don't do it if you can help it. lot's of my trainers(co-drivers) do it, but i will tell you don't do it, especially when you're approaching stops. i leave it in gear if i'm approaching any intersection, and in case a light turns green, it gives you more control to accelerate faster and gear back up quick. just drive with what works best for you.
