No he made it sound like he went through school, had been driving, and hasn't been driving for the last 5 months. And if that's the case, he shouldn't be so rusty that he feels like he needs a refresher course. All I was saying was don't waste your time and money on a refresher course if you're a little skiddish. 10 minutes in a truck and you'll be fine again
Is ConWay worth it?

Conway is by far the only company that pays by the honor system before the load is actually delivered and before the bill of lading has been turned in.
paul_4lp Thanks this. -

Tis true.
Bank days off.
No forcing you to take them off on this day this day or in this time period.
Can park truck at house and not terminal then drive home a couple hours. >>>>> that's why you lost me orange! -
^^^ and no route "you must follow"
you get practical routed miles , which is a suggestion
& No routed fuel stops ...that you must follow
... You can fuel at most pilots & flying J's , few loves & T/A's that are approved fuel stops
they do require you to fuel at company terminal's & highly suggest fueling at Conway freight yards , but I've only been call out on the later once in 2.5 years for not fueling at CWF -
Yup orange wouldn't allow you to take the Indiana toll road.
.....in a tanker....
Ya ... I'll pass.
That and the commute home.
My cards broke when I go to those places.
Just put a 6 every time on fuel anyway :OGetstepn Thanks this. -
^^thats what I used to do as a company driver. The only time that didn't happen was those VERH rare cases when my next pickup was further away then the the time I had to get there. Then that 2 or 1 on fuel would be the reason if I ended up 5 minutes late. It never happened but I planned it that way anyway lol

Go ahead and do your year with Conway. You will make 30 's at least.

30's? I made 52,890 my first 12 months... That included all bonuses, detention, and layover. It does not include the insulting Christmas bonus. (I think it was called something else) Regardless, I sent it back with a little note describing just how that little bit of $ made me feel. Funny, they keep sending me letters notifying me that I never cashed it. They want me to fill in a box telling them what to do with it. There's no "other" box though where I can write what I wrote on the check in the first place...lol
CargoWahgo and paul_4lp Thank this. -
As I recall, the program was .26 cpm 1st month with trainer. 30 cpm next months 2-6. 32 cpm months 7-9. And 34 cpm months 10-12. If a student graduate ran to an average of 11k paid miles per month which would be exceptional for a new driver. 10k per month much more likely. The 11k super newbie would have earned $41,140. Please explain how you did 25% greater than a super newbie would have.

Not sure but I think he teamed @.225 for part of his 1st year
