Ok, so I'm kinda new. I learned double clutching in school, learned how to float on my own, but whats single clutching?

Basically using the clutch once to get out of a particular gear (like starting off with a heavy load), then using the RPMs to float the shift into the next gear (either up or down...)

Ahhhh, ok. That's what I had to do in my last truck. I couldn't get it to double clutch right, and I couldn't get it to float right, but doing this made it nice and smooth. So the next time a trainer says "What kinda crazy shiftin is that?", I have a term. I just told him "It ain't grindin or thunkin and we're accelerating so it must be ok!"
