If only there were a way to eliminate sleep from our lives. Get more out of our time off and feel a little more lively. But as drivers, we're pretty much just real-life zombies. Sleep for a few hours, stare at the ceiling for several hours, then 1/2 asleep, 1/2 awake the rest of the time.

Of course when it comes to days off, I usually travel 7-8 hours away just to go do things for fun. That drive on top of all the driving I do during the work week tends to sap it out of you. As much as I like the small town atmosphere, I'm beginning to think there's not that much I partake in here locally and may have to consider a big city move sometime soon. -
Expeditor, kemosabi49 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

HOWEVER the doctors got a hold of me and I lost a week while they fed a variety of chemicals, nutrients and other good things that my body stripped during that time before collapse. YOU WILL go to sleep at some point. That was pretty much the last time I rolled that hard personally. I'll go for a few days and nights short of war or whatever great need, but I don't make a habit of it.
The worst feeling is when you are asleep with eyes open at 70 mph coming up on people unable to do anything about it with that 18 wheeler. Heh.Trucking in Tennessee and bentstrider83 Thank this.
