Is I26 finally open

    Tonight I took 26 from 81 to Ashville. One lane for a few miles but quite passible. As was said, 10' width restriction.

    If that is true, could a driver then ease down into Greenville SC? The driver would depart Bristol VA, pick up I-26 South to Asheville with the goal being Greenville SC. Thanks!

    Yes. After my delivery in Ashville this morning I took 26 East down to US 74 in Columbus, NC. Lots of construction and traffic clusters at times but that is normal East of Ashville.

    The weigh station is closed through there because of the construction but not a single sign that says it is.

    We did a successful drive down I-26 S and Hwy 25 S from Johnson City down to Greenville. One lane on the Erwin bridge goes north, other lane goes south. Not terribly painful
