A few years back I got a call one night to the truckstop to pick up a driver and carry him and some fuel out on the interstate to fire his truck up. When I got there the driver came up with some idiotic story that he was the lead driver in a team, and the other one had run him off with a gun and ask what I would do. I told him I would not go back if I was afraid of him. lol When I got out of my service truck at his truck, I slid a highpower in my back pocket, then proceded to put fuel in the truck. While I was getting started, he walked way out in front of the truck and stood on his tip toes trying to see through the windshield. And finally said I think he is gone. He then climbed in the truck and started looking around and ask if I wanted his gun. I told him I will take it, but make sure the right end comes out that window first, unless you want shot, I am not your imaginary driver. lol Then he said he must have took it with him. I never knew if there ever was another driver or not, but I suspected not.
The next time this happens. Simply go in a clam voice, "Driver. It has been awhile since someone has properly whooped my ###. Just stop up here, and you can beat the #### out of me, and we'll both feel better."
You call your company lay out exactly what happened. They will probably hunt that truck with him in it for leaving you stranded. The Law should be called on this kind of situation workplace violence and threats are not acceptable. Your company will tell you what you will need to do. I don't care about the crying that led up to the actual kicking you out and then driving off with that truck. It is more like other crimes against that person. Your company will take a time to tell you exactly what you need to do. It's a rare situation but its known to happen now and again.
