As you may have heard or seen in the news, Bison USA is a growing trucking company in this country. Two of their fairly recent company purchases are from Maine - Pottles and Hartt.

Since the parent company is based in Canada, could that be why it's being promoted on Maine radio advertisements as "ByeZun USA" versus how the word Bison is normally pronounced in this country?

Is this just a Canadian thing for their corporate bosses to push an unusual pronunciation of this growing and so-called American company?
Whatever the reason is for why they're doing this, it seems like a bad decision on multiple business fronts.

Heard it pronounced up here both ways, probably aboot 50/50. Don't really understand what part of it is a bad business move. Maybe they will fail and in the process have hired some Americans along the way, who knows. They're kind of like your Schneider or werner but from the north obviously not nearly as big but same basic idea. Freightliners, dry vans, Qualcomm dispatch, governed slow trucks, yada yada yada. Not bad, not good.

But if they want to look like an American company, it just seems like they'd pronounce it the everyone in this country does. Not a huge thing, obviously, but a point that just comes up everything their radio ads play around here.
BTW, lots of folks down here equate Western Express as an equal to Bison Trsnsport. Are you familiar with Western Express from the USA?

Bison also bought another Wisconsin Carrier years back. They can do both sides of the border without fail. Watch how many double 53's go west from Winnipeg, They move a lot of freight. They wanted to pull 2 53's from Winnipeg into South Dakota on I-29. North Dakota found an old law that only allowed 100 feet of trailer, so that stopped their operation.

I've always heard it pronounced bison. Those east coasters have their own dialect though.

It sounds like the amount of work has decreased for drivers too, or at least for some of them.

Deadheading more. Instead of like a hour away. It's closer to 100+ miles. Ok for company drivers. Not for O/O
