It's a great time. If you have the experience, 50K+ cash and a triple digit IQ.

In your words you are still a rookie. So for a new owner operator, now is not a good time. The spot rates are garbage right now.

People who have been in this business for years drop like flies.
I can't imagine one that wants to start it now unless they have a solid plan in place and customers waiting. And money of course to risk it all.

Do you have a family? Home? Are you the breadwinner? How is your credit? Now is not the time to become an owner owner op. A truck payment, insurance, the cost of fuel, maintenance, if you don't have a healthy bank account to start you're doomed right out of the gate. Stick with the company for awhile, keep your record clean, bank your money, as much as you can. How much time do you think you'll be able to take off once everything, EVERYTHING depends on you?

I declined a $1.55 per mile load out of Billing’s this morning and decided to run empty all day.

So much money to burn in this business :)

Saw a load get scooped up today for $1.13 heavy and on the truck for 3 days.. I laughed!!
