Where can I buy them? Online? I’ll bet they’re on backorder. I always miss out in the good opportunities.

Define O/O. I suspect the info you’re getting is from other O/Os that are Leased to the Company you drive for. They’re comparing their salaries against their former salaries as a Company driver. Probably a mega Carrier that constantly offers to help make you an O/O. Probably an easy no money dn. Lease purchase plan available. You’re making $800 take home, while O/O’s are taking home $1500-$2000 per week after deductions. They sure seem happy too. Don’t buy it. They aren’t really O/O’s. They have no idea what’s in store for them. Find out how long they’ve been doing it. Probably won’t find many with any length of time. Find others who “used to be O/O’s”. You’ll get the picture. While you may bump up pay a bit, in the short term. Probably better off getting more experience and finding a better paying job. There’s a lot of good paying jobs to be had right now. No risk involved. You can always buy a Truck in the future, If you just have to try it. Meanwhile you’re doing the right thing now. Learning what to expect. How to go about it, etc. Beware of the easy road. It doesn’t exist. Those who claim to be on it, are delusional.

I have 6 years driving experience, coming up on my first year as an O/O and let me tell you this bud if you don’t do your research on the markets, pay attention to the economy, talk with the old guys, you’ll put yourself in a bad situation. I made friends and rubbed shoulders with a lot of people as a company driver that now I can depend on to keep me going during the tough times. I’m thankful for social media and places like this because if you use them for what they were designed for you’ll be ahead of the game.

in my opinion trucking is right now unless you have a steady customer base, and my opinion has always been why not learn the business on somebody else’s dime. When you #### up it’s the company that takes the hit, and being that you’re just a year in I’d stay a company driver for another few years, but talk on the cb, at truck stops, on forums, FB, IG you name it. Use it to your advantage and put together a real plan before you jump in this water, because if you don’t you’ll lose everything and I mean everything if you’re not prepared. I’m not a know it all, I just know I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if I hadn’t spent 5 years as a company driver first.

Side note check this out if you’re wondering about how much people care about the O/O

    Questions of similar ilk:

Is it a good time to go into alligator wrestling?

Is it a good time to go into underwater stumpblasting?

    Why wouldn't it be?

    After all...it's a free country (mostly).....:p :D

In these low rate times, I have noticed more advertisements to teach people how to be successful in Trucking. Then witnessed about 300 people sitting in a seminar at MATS about being profitable as I walked by looking for my next 8.00 beer. I'm thinking about writing my book title "How to become a Owner Op"
19.99 plus shipping and handling. I will include my hit list of brokers and contact info. For 9.99 per truck, I will send you two new fantastic brokers a week. 1 years subscription required.

I've also seen a sharp uptick in dispatch services leaving voicemails after the spam filter bounces their call.

Your right. I get multiple per day. Most I'll ignore, but once in awhile I'll spent my time to mess with them.

its all over youtube everywhere you look.. let me teach you how to make money in ecommerce. trading the stock market. selling on ebay. building a website. blah blah blah. all you have to do is buy the course.... nothing but a scam... i dont claim to have much knowledge about anything.. but even i can figure out who is going to be making the money in that scenario, and its not the person buying the course.
