it's not just the trucks on either side of you, it's the ones across from you too, that can back into you, or smack into you as they try to either get out, or park.

Yes run off. That's actually a very serious crime. If you have anything at all on that particular driver or truck, company etc. They will get him.

Ive had a entire front end ripped off once. With me in the sleeper. What a ride that was. And what a phone call too. Not often I stumped the shop boss until he was repeated and told several times in less big words just how bad the damage was that morning.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

And you will now have "he said/she said/my truck was never there/your claims are false/etc".

Do you have pictures? If you dont have pictures, you have nothing. What kind of pictures? The pictures that tell your story: Pictures that show that I was
    1. LEGALLY parked in a designated parking space.
    2. At X truckstop, this time of day/night
    3. Truck789 of Moron Trucking, out of Dumas Illinois, had his head in his arse and he hit me, who was legally parked because of ___________.

When you take pictures, you take the close up pics, you take the far away pics, you take lots and lots of pics and you tell your story though pictures and send them all in to your insurance company and they slaughter the other guys, and you come out smelling like exotic flowers. When you start snapping pics, that Moron should know, by the way you take your pics, that there was no point in running...

...unless he didn't have a license at all and he's looking at jail time.

Most everyone has a phone with a camera on it. Take advantage of it and record everything including the info of any witnesses. I take pictures of anything and everything that I may need to remember in the future as I sometimes suffer from CRS. It’s easier to delete them when I’m sure that I don’t need them than it is to try and recall information that may or may not be correct due to the passage of time.

I have to ask, when in the hell does one treat any accident where the insurance is going to be involved as if it was a parking lot accident and people exchange info?

NEVER - always call a cop.

Just off topic but has anyone here ever backed into a spot and accidentally bump the trailer behind u cause they were over the yellow line ??? If no damage would this still be an accident??? I've been bumped a few times by a few drivers who backed too far and it rocks u out of the sleeper.
