Is it a huge deal if you’re a little crooked at a dock?

I wish I knew how many docks I backed into, got to be in the thousands, and some, you just couldn't get into. My Pete( in avatar) without P/S was particularly tough. If the lip of the dock plate went all the way across, even barely touching on one side, good enough. Sometimes, they wouldn't take a towmotor when like that, and I had to bring it to the back with a pallet jack.

Yeah, don't forget the lines that bear no relationship to the actual dock bumpers......like, none

If the dock plate and dock lock fit properly, the biggest problem may be anything out of square to the dock means one side of your truck or trailer is more in danger of getting hit by the truck/trailer next to you.

I usually ask them to move their building a bit. Whoever painted those lines was smoking something.

    Dock plate fits? Check.

No excessive overlap on one side that could cause the freight to possibly not fit? Check.

Place only has 2 dock doors and I’m not so crooked as to make the other one inaccessible? Check.

No need to worry about much beyond that.
