Never heard of the pizza slice maneuver. Lol. Just ask the Instructor for help. Don’t worry about anyone’s opinions. Learn now, while you’re in School. So you won’t be lost and guessing later.

It was just a reference point using the landing gear cross braces. I couldn't tell you what it was today, but 5 years ago it helped me pass my parallel parking and offset!

Forget that stupid offset backup or the parallel parking maneuver .

Maybe teach a driver how to squeeze a 45 foot tanker through a 10 foot wide bay door with only 55 feet between the door and the historic monument church littered with signs stating the fines you will receive for getting up on the sidewalk in front of the church.

Or how to squeeze your trailer into the dimly lit last spot at the only truck stop on a dark rainy night.

That’s basically how the guy that taught me got me through the test. Everything else I learned on the job.

With your practical test no matter how many notes you have with this test its all about pure skill so the notes won't really help you parallel park any better. I'd focus more on your backing skills then taking notes, I'm still not sure why the dept of Transport insist on us learning how to parallel park after all we're not learning to drive a motor car are we?

. Easiest way I’ve found to explain backing, is to turn the bottom of the steering wheel in the direction you want the Trailer to go. Put one hand at the bottom of the wheel, if you have to in order to remember. The Truck doesn’t have a mind of its own. It will only go where you put it.
