Not illegal as long as your load is secured.

There are a lot of comma's before "load" and the word "and". It doesn't say "or". Are you going to argue with black and white? Just ask a DOT officer instead of what your friend told you. Secure means the latch is latched and not rolling back and forth in the track. Slam on the brakes and you can roll the top panel off the track if there is no stop. Boxes fall down all the time even with load locks and shrink wrap. You never seen boxes thrown on top or tracks and doors messed up by forklifts?

Besides being illegal, a violation, it's inconsiderate and pure inexcusable laziness. Those drivers apparently could care less if something falls out and damages another vehicle or worse, causes an accident. It'll catch up to them, and we will be reading their Help me I got fired posts.

I think it's more that they forget to close the doors at their last stop and drive away :biggrin_2556:

And members on this forum will be forgiving and willing to give those drivers another chance for their 'mistake'.

There is a thin line between lazy and saving time.

Nope. Leaving a trailer door unsecured = lazy

It takes a whole 10 seconds to open and close a roll door.
