I've only had to replace one headlamp bulb in one of the Volvo's. Not that hard. Had to replace the turn signal/DRL bulbs a few times. I wish they made an amber version of the extra long life 4114 bulb they created for the clear GM DRL lamps in the pickups. They are rated at 14 volts for both the high and low filaments whereas the XX57NA bulbs are only rated for 12 volts on the high side, not ideal for constant on applications, which is why the cheap truck stop bulbs burn out so fast. The cheap bulbs turn clear too as they aren't amber glass, they're painted and the paint burns off. I only put in name brand bulbs from Sylvania, Philips or General Electric, as they have a longer service life and don't turn clear.

You're DOT bait if you knowingly drive with a burned out lite. There are officers that all they do is drive around and pull truckers over to do a random inspection.Texas is full of those officers.I would not chance it.You have a burned out lite or anything alarming to a DOT you get that fixed ASAP.When 1 headlite burns out its a matter of time before the other lite burns out.I quit telling other drivers if they have a burned out lite because they already know it and just too lazy to replace the bulb.bottomdumpin and texasbbqbest Thank this.
