It was a problem at the LTL I worked at, that wasn't the only problem but it was one big one. The work just didn't interest me, I couldn't see myself doing that for 30 more years. It's easy work and the pay was ok but just not for me.

I wound up having the opposite circumstance.

As much as I enjoyed flatbed and lowboy work, the money just wasn't there. I'll need somewhere around $25 an hour minimum before I'd entertain going back to that, and even that would involve a pay cut.

I most generally try to avoid the pay conversation but I do pretty good. Then you add in the diversity of my job and the good company I work for and it's a no brainer.

No it's not that, I just seems like the pay thing never results in anything good. Someone either calls you a liar, or tries to one up you, or gets offended and there are SO many factors related to pay that it's usually apples and oranges anyway. Look at the conversations we usually have on here most of which are friendly and enjoyable, would a conversation about pay help any of them?

It could, if people knew how to be civil and live and let live.

Too many easily bruised egos abound though....
