Is it legitimate to charge people to back their trailer for them?

More then once I have asked a yard dog driver to dock a trailer for me. No shame in that. However nobody would ever have got behind the wheel of my tractor. Company driver or not.

You completely missed the point please re-read. It had absolutely nothing to do with a license.

I totally got your point. And your point is wrong. There is no rules covering operating a vehicle on private property. The rules apply when you enter a public roadway, not before! I no longer have a drivers license because of epilepsy. There is no law preventing me tonight from getting behind the wheel of a CMV and driving it in a circle for 10 hours in a truck stop. This is my point.

OP claims 200 difficult backs so far and in another thread is short of the 200 driving hours needed with a mentor.

Something wrong with that ratio. :)

You may technically have to log that on line 4. I for one refuse to log that on line 3 though.

That is all well and good so long as he ONLY operates on private property. The instant he turns out onto a public road, the HOS once again apply, and ALL of the time he's spent operating on private property counts against his 11/14/70 clocks.
