The liquid will move and not give an accurate reading UNLESS you leave the brakes off which may be difficult on some scales.

Remember when you were in school and asked “When will I ever use math?”
    This is it.

Isn't it pretty much pointless to even try and get a tanker to axle out anyway for that reason. Unless you are pulling a compartmentalized fuel trailer maybe

I'm guessing your in Michigan? A lot of guys chirping here that have never tried to find an actual axle scale. They're out there but not too many that are advertised. And not too many platform scales are flat enough on the approaches to drive off to get all the axle weights. Plus some of the CAT scales at the truck stops won't go that high. I've been down that road before in Michigan. Huge pita. On the bright side most scales look the other way on axle weights with a liquid multi axle tanker. So do the math and see how close you are to your allowable gross. If your allowable axles weights are over your gross then your good to go. If it's close knock a ton off your payload until the boss loads the trailer and finds a axle scale with flat approaches and accurately axle weighs the ##### thing! Lol it's not much fun getting axle weighed at a rest area or bounced around the back of the scale because you're over on 2 axles out of 8 but under your gross. Been there done that. Good luck with it.

I am the only truck and tanker running out of my terminal i was put there 3 years ago because the company wanted there own driver. I was brand new to a 11 axle on day one. what also did not help was that my boss did TRY to care, but the reality is he really did not want the responsibility and didnt know anymore than i did. ok, i respect that. and the guy that is supposed to know is a state away. I have asked more questions than you know because of this situation. I really like the work, i really want this to work out but its getting older by the minute, i feel like a burden to everyone there , and that reality is... I AM. It really sucks wanting to learn but know one to give a ####.

yes michigan, when i read the reply from LESTER i called cat scales and was told the closes scale to me was at a flying jay and i was told yes it will weigh individual axles. but i didnt think to ask how high they go. You are correct on everything you have said and i thank you for your reply. And yes to all the chirpers i have done the math and i have gotten close but i still get my balls busted at the scales and its way old. If you have read my other post, and with some due respect my boss could care less what issues i am having and has told me it aint his job. Again, Thanks.
