it includes a criminal check. then its a job history and driving/violations history of cdl driving jobs....but only those that report to dac. so if you had an accident, the dac may not show it, but if you had put that job on your history and they called for a reference, the accident may NOT show on dac and yet still be found out. those are the 3 ways they would find out about any incident... 1.mvr 2.dac/hireright 3. reference call to company with whom accident occurred. and of course 4. if you tell em about it.
What happened to honesty? It happened, tell the truth. If you fail to disclose and the company finds out after you get hired, you can be fired for dishonesty. Failure to disclose is no different then lying about it. You can explain it just like you did here. There is an insurance record of it somewhere and someone besides you knows about it. My 2 cents.
I would admit to what's on record. Just copy down what's on your mvr on your app. If you weren't cited or ticketed and not at fault then it shouldn't be an issue. Since you don't have a CDL you shouldn't have anything on a DAC report. Don't fill out the mass company apps. Do your homework and find the companies and apply only to them. Try to stay away from the mega-carriers. You will have the best success and make more money with the smaller less known companies.
I just went to hireright.com and put all my information in for a free dac report. I do not think the guy I drove for does dac reporting. He only has 3 trucks. And I was not fired from there. The fender bender didn't even hurt my truck. Just 1 little paint chip.My boss just struggled it off as he didn't really care.
