Next trucking company that you apply to, make sure that they don't deal with DAC and explain the situation. I would try to find some small family run company. The bigger the company, the less they care. -
Well, the deed is done. Consider this as a learning experience and move on to the next trade. Adios -
Your right triplesix. But his reasons were extenuating. Think about it if it was you wife. Are you married? A miscarriage is a big thing. It can ruin your thought process like PTSD. I'm taking pirates side. Raider is a a crackpot waiting to boil over anyway. The safety ratings are through the roof. I can't drive through one scale without being looked at.

However Pirate, there is a service called DAC Fix and they have a link on the site here somewhere. For a fee they just might be able to clean that up for you. That's the best way I can think of to resolve the problem. Just keep in mind that running illegal will be just about every single dispatcher you run across.
I wish you and your family the best and everyone a Merry Christmas! -
Accepting a load, getting a call to come home, and quitting instead of trying to work out something. From what I read, your wife does not want you to be on the truck. This I can understand. But trucking is not a job you just walk away from under a load you accepted, expecting the company to majically find a driver to deliver the load YOU accepted.
You could have called and tried to work something out, and if that did not work, you may have to been justified to quit. But from what you wrote, this did not happen. These kind of things happen when you drive. If you or your wife can't handle it, don't drive. I drove very little when my children were small, and also when my parents were very ill. I did not quit under a load and leave a company in a bind though. You don't do this, no matter how much you hate a company. It is called being a professional.
With your family situation, you should not be OTR. If you are in a situation where you have no other choice but to drive to survive, then be willing to accept what comes with the job. -
Poobah Thanks this.

Ok, I understand his wife misscarried.
Sorry to hear that.
But, he could of called. Line up a repower. Take time off for his family..
He left a load, then called in and said Oh I quit, wife in the hospital.
Yes,been there. Had ex girl friend lose baby when I was on the road. Company I worked for at the time, let me drop the load and I bounced home 500 miles..
You chose otr as a living.
So you have to deal with problems out on the road.
You gonna leave trk. and load again if she breaks a toe nail and cries???Last edited: Dec 23, 2009

A driver at my companies wife died while he was on the road. Roehl qualcommed him to go to the nearset truck stop. When he got there another Roehl driver was there to meet him and give him the news and take his truck. Roehl had gotten him a plane ticket from up in Wisconsin where he was to Atlanta. They had also gotten him a rental car to get from the Atlanta airport to his house almost 100 miles from there. When he came back to work Roehl never charged him for any of what they had done.Sometimes companies do the right thing.
Hanadarko Thanks this. -
The old saying is true...and it MUST be that way. (otherwise it will never work)
The only thing tougher than a trucker, is a truckers wife.
Our wives often get the short end of the stick because of our chosen profession...sux, but thats just the way it is.
