I have made 3500 in one week and 1000 in one week. Only 6 months in with my own truck intermodal. I feel like its highs and lows but I see alot of disrespect to drivers these days.. I say we strike nation wide for better rates and respect. Most of these companies tell us we make 70 percent each load but I doubt that. The problem is too many desperate truckers willing to take a hit financially until they run out of money ..
Is it possible to make good money hauling containers (intermodal)?

I'm hoping to get out with my own numbers within the next few months, these companies definitely getting over on us the say they pay 70%, but 70% of what? That we will never knowRERM Thanks this.

I believe you you because when I came on with this outfit I'm with I was clearing anywhere from 2000 to 2500, but couple months ago the switch us from percentage to miles and I can't see that. Hopefully things change soon because I'm already looking for something elseTmGM Thanks this.

Alot of local companies are doing that to make more money but it makes no sense to run by the mile unless you are putting 500+ miles a day and most of us are really unlikely to be doing it
TmGM, ChicagoJohn, RERM and 2 others Thank this. -
Any good local intermodal companies out of houston?

I haul container and I make anywhere from 1400 to 2200 a week it's a give and take industry. It will tare up your truck so you have to make sure to keep up on your maintenance. This is not an easy job! It can be great one day and the next youround pulling your hair out ready to quit. Goodluck
