Hey we need to give the kid a break. We were all young and full of piss and vinegar at one time ourselves. He will either get over it, or he won't. And with his attitude, who really cares?:biggrin_25513:

You guys are truly pots calling the kettle black.. You stubborn old farts just can't listen either. Just because you have grey hair doesn't mean your done learning either. Transam Pete, no one disregard commercial fishing as being easy, I know that's a pain in the rearend.. and I garuntee when you got out of that, and in to trucking, you were relieved beyond belief because you didn't have to work like an idiot anymore.

You old guys once again, bring nothing to the table to argue the point, just continue to say, "Oh, what do you know, your 25.".. I was raised old school, where you earn your keep, go to work everyday, and bust your ###.. You can say I won't last because of my "attitude" all you want, and that I am liable to kill some one or whatever you want.. I spend 15 minutes every morning pre-tripping, 15 minutes in the evening post-tripping, do the speed limit every where, and pay attention to my surroundings every day. I garuntee you if I choose to stick with it, I will retire from this industry.. if there is anything left over for us younger guys to retire too.

It's amazing, you guys must be therapists or psychologists or something.. to think you know EXACTLY what someone is about just based off of some forum. Every single one of you are naive as hell. Period. I've seen every single one of you post about the idiots running for these mega carriers, and you still think it takes a special breed. haha. If you guys would actually say something legit, or meaningful, I'd listen right to it..

Tell ya what, after almost 15 years working, it's the easiest job I've ever had. I love the fact that it annoys you so much that your nothing special. lol. You guys need to sack up and stop getting so emotional.. like a bunch of old ladies. Wouldn't last a minute on a job as an Iron Worker.. haha

FreeWord I agree with you. I did flatbed for almost 13 years. It was the easiest job I ever had. It is a lot easier than working on the railroad like I do now, easier than being a firefighter/EMT, and even easier than pumping gas and running a cash register like I did in high school. Once you learn the basics of driving it becomes very easy. Like you said I worked an hour to secure a load than sat on my butt listening to the radio the rest of the day. The majority of drivers pull vans and do even less than that. For some of these people it is hard though. It drives me nuts when I hear an OTR van driver talk about lazy union workers. I work a hell of a lot harder switching cars in a rail yard than I ever did driving a truck.

Ok, I will try this one last time, you have not a thing to prove here, though you are proving a very bad stereotype to these gentlemen here, and that is not a good thing. Easy killer, nobody is out to get you, just turn down the volume a little bit, all you gotta do, wargames retired from this business most of these guys have forgot more than I will ever know. By the way I am only 25, and this conversation will make an ole bronc stomper old before his time, and his patience somewhat thin, however the good lord blessed me with a sense of humor, was like that once, and yes war games is right only time will tell. It will wear off after, I mean taking the job so serious like can, and will physically affect you, it can do bad things to your health.PS : no more benzedrene and mountain dew for you......
