is it really that hard?

No, I tested in Colorado - but the Pre-Trip will be identical. All trucks have the same parts that need to be checked. I don't have my DOT book handy, but I *think* the minimum requirements are in there. If I weren't so darn lazy, I'd go look.

 

I am looking for the same info on TDDS I hear they are very good just a little peace of mind is what I am looking for. You know with paying out of my own pocket and all

 

I went to a 3 week class and we where either on the backing pad or driving from 7am till 3:30 pm then did class till 5:30pm

We had one instructor that taught the count for backing but he was quickly told to knock it off and teach us how to back like we where in the real world lol.

I know for the first week and a 1/2 i struggled with backing but then it was like a light bulb went off and i started backing alot better.

We had several day and night drives where we would do one right turn then a left turn one after the other till we felt better about turns.

But i can honestly say i do not feel; ready to go out and drive without getting some serious on the road training for a few weeks

 

when I learned that when backing if you see more trailer in your right mirror turn the wheel right and visa versa I found it took the guessing of which way to cut away try it it will all make sense you can use this when turning too when you need to correct you will know which way to turn
