I only had 69 hours last week, that ended Saturday.
And I'm back at it now lol at a grocery warehouse.

I'm local, so diet & exercise are no problem at all.

Even when I go OTR those things aren't a problem, you just have to be disciplined about what you do.

I think if you get into this game just to make money you will not do well or like it.

I think if you like all the aspects of trucking, and there are many, you will love it.

I could easily live out of my truck, or live at the yard in my truck or a small trailer.

I tell everyone for a quick take on trucking " I wonder if I'll like it?"

I think if you enjoy camping, your gonna love trucking.

There is always more negativity than positivity in the trucking industry. There was a thread I read yesterday about a guy that loved Western Express. Most people bash that company. Just like someone stated, your job is what you make it.

Look at the good in everything and you'll find it. Look for the bad and you'll find it as well. Just be optimistic and focus on the stuff you enjoy. If it's what you truly want to do you will enjoy it.

I absolutely love what I do. I did not like my starter company but I had to get my foot in the door. However I did a lot of research to find my second company and made sure they had the things I wanted and that the bad things they had were things that wouldn't bring me down too much. Then I moved on to the job I plan to retire at once the time came.

Basically suck it up and learn for the first year or 2. Then do research and find the best company for YOU(Not what other drivers say are the best/worst.) Although use other drivers advice/wisdom to help weed out some companies. Talk to drivers THAT CURRENTLY work at companies you are interested. That's where you'll get the most honest information.

Life is what you make it!
