Is it reasonable to ask for 6 weeks off?

Will quiting at 90 days prevent me from employment at another trucking company? JB hunt is asking me to come over there as soon as hit 90 days. Offered a regional dedicated home weekly .

That’s reasonable. I’m ok with quitting as well. I do want to pursue school. I haven’t made up my mind either way for sure. Ideally I would be able to go to school in the truck and after 3 years have a degree and experience. Then I would have some nice options.

I have very minimal respect for this company. I can’t believe they’re still in business actually.

This isn’t about not wanting to truck. It’s about wanting to earn a degree. Which I believe I can do while trucking. I agree, I need to focus. Election is soon right?

    That's GREAT advice.

Thanks much for this reminder -- I needed to hear that where I am now....

It's possible. There are threads in which drivers have had problems. Their issue was that they quit without having something lined up...that way they would have landed on their feet.

I have a degree, and I can tell you from experience, you'd probably have to step away from trucking if you're going to go full time. If you're going to take your time to get the degree, maybe a class or 2 while trucking is possible but I really can't say.

Put in at least 12 months, quit, do your stuff, then come back, tell them you got a family situation to take care of. If u stay clean they will take u back on..or someone else will.
