I am currently a nurse and have been for 25 years. My husband drives truck, but is currently in a construction type business, so hours are iffy.

Healthcare is getting more and more difficult, so I am contemplating a career change! Might be nice to be a team with my husband....

So, being the pragmatist that I am, I have to know the financial aspect. Presently, between the 2 of us, we make a little less than $100,000 a year. As a team, driving for a company (not owner), can we make at least that much without being away from home all the time?
    Any insight would be helpful!

The purpose of the team is to run the truck & they mean run the truck. That would not being home. I saw some interesting opportunities if I was going to team with my wife. You would make the money but home time would be given up.

There are carriers with dedicated team routes and home time. I would think these are typically established teams, and not entry-level. I know of one in Ohio that runs their teams from Ohio to So. Cal. and it is a 4 day work week generating about $120k to the drivers. It would not be a starting point.

I love my wife dearly but could not live in a truck with her.

I can only imagine being stuck in a small box with your significant other 24/7. You might get intimate once a month (if that) just out of desperation lol

Friends of mine, husband and wife team: she says it's like living together in a bathroom.
But yes you can make that kind of money. Another couple did that for about five years and saved up to pay cash for a house, then they found local work and started a family.

Been married for 25 year. No divorce would happen! Would like to pay off house and other debts, so that is one reason for considering this. Live in oklahoma. Any companies in oklahoma that would be good for a rookie plus someone with experience?

Good companies pay teams .50 cents a mile and up. Good teams run 5 to 6,000 miles a week. Find a company that will let you do three weeks out and one week at home...and you will hit your annual number.
