    Excellent question Ranger...
I encourage anyone who is looking for work to check out their website and search for jobs in your zip code. They are opening warehouses all over the country so you can get home every night, not just 3 days a month. Check out their DCS and FMS divisions as well.

I work on the dedicated Home Depot account (DCS) and get home every day and weekends off every week and still gross well over 1,000.00 a week.

Elaborate, please. How's your hometime? Mileage? Inquiring minds would like to know!

if you work for JB DCS Home time can be everynight every other night or maybe every weekend, depends on the account. I work for Home Depot and averaged 2300 to 2500 miles a week at times, plus you get paid stop pay and a daily pay. The account I am on now is a weekly salary.

JB Hunt is bad news. Was lied to from day 1. New truck, got a 06 Freightliner. Biggest piece of #### both inside and out. I was shocked that they had equipment like this. Was on Intermodel in KC, MO. Average miles varied from 1400 to 2100 a week. 2100 was a good week. The 06 did 58 miles per hour. A month and 1/2 later, I did receive a 2011 Freightliner. Very nice for what it was. 62 miles per hour. With a 28.000 load, found myself always playing in 9th gear holding 45 miles per hour. Getting passed by Walmart trucks identical to mine. On a heavy load, much worse. I asked the mechanics if they could match horsepower with the 62 mile per hour range, they stated no, not possible. I called Freightliner, they state it can be done.

Dispatcher, is the worst with the highest turn over rate on her board. Mechanics, very un-friendly. JB states they are a driver oriented company. I have yet to see this. They offer no free coffee, showers, laundry to the drivers at this terminal. They do have Laundry facilities at other terminals but you have to pay to use them.

They claim 98% drop and hook. It started out that way for the first week, then disappeared quickly. Intermodel in my opinion is considered a glorified day cab driver with having a sleeper to sleep in incase you get stuck at a shipper for hours waiting to get loaded or unloaded. Average miles is around 400 plus a day. They will not pay you to find a empty trailer. I dropped at KC, KS train yard, took 2 hours to find a empty. My dime, my time.......

Some, very few drivers do like working there. I would have to say they have been there for years and are getting the miles? My trainer on the other hand, 17 years with them just told me he isn't getting miles.... I ran into a day cab driver who signed up on the Whirlpool account, a hourly position. 3 months later, they told him that he will be getting paid by the piece unloaded and installed rather than by the hour. Sometimes he had a helper, but mostly by himself. He was running out of his 14 hours 2 days in a row. He called his FM on both days letting her know and was told to stay and finish the job. On the 3rd day, he was suspended for 3 days for running out of his 14 twice..... Really!!!!

Again, this is my opinion. Do your homework. I would highly advise to run though. But, there are alot of big name companies out there probably doing the same crap.

Oh ya, forgot. 5 days on 2 days off

I have noticed that they are offering relocation money for the cs accounts jb just got in the northeast. maybe you should look into that. I worked for the company that lost that contract and have been off the road for almost 15 months now working for a highway dept and have a state pension here in ny and im talking to jb because there is a lot of potential to earn money on these accounts. of course u will see metro ny and nj everyday. but maybe u can transfer to a dcs account somewhere. don't think jb would want to lose a driver if they can transfer one. just my thoughts.

yes they would transfer drivers, they did it for me when my DCS account went slow. to many people will tell their story but not the "actual" story.

if people only knew what I make on the highway dept they wouldn't be complaining so much. yes I have outstanding medical and a state pension which isn't all that great but im off work at 3pm everyday and weekends off and yet i'm thinking about driving again. heck the daily commute is about 95 miles round trip opposed to the 26 miles I drive now. Having worked for some really bad companies I cant believe that jb is that bad.

Just because you are one of the few that like it there, don't bash my opinion. Ask some of your fellow co-workers. I'm sure they will fill your head. I'm sure if I had a different FM like the one I had in the beginning, I might have a different view. But, the mile don't lie.... Where are the miles?????
