Get a tanker endorsement, no hitting docks. That was a semi serious suggestion, I would recommend local dump truck companies, they'll take anyone and you're home every night! Or cement delivery, those companies hire anyone as well, from what I see around here, but dumps pay better.

MJ, are you sure you want to be a driver? If I add up the details of your post, you seem a little reckless, a little unconcerned about the rest of the world. If your career isn't done because no one will put you in a truck, maybe it's time for a long break until your record settles down, or some other line of earned income. Either way, backing incidents are red flags for insurance adjusters and trucking companies.
Luke628 and darthanubis Thank this. -
I'm thinking that your 3 backing incidents a year ago, are not as worrisome to prospective employers than your failure to maintain on your CPAP. If the backing incidents had been too bad, they would have dumped you then. The CPAP was likely just the icing on the cake.
Your past criminal record likely won't be holding you back at all. A long time ago, and you have paid your dues on it.
You just need to convince a prospective employer that you WILL COMPLY with the CPAP crap. And then once you are hired, DO SO. Whatever it takes. I know the general consensus on the forum here seems to be that everything having to do with CPAP is a rip off and a fake. It isn't, but I'm not here to argue that. Just to say that as long as it is mandated, you need to comply with it. Right, wrong, or indifferent.
You CAN learn to sleep with it on. Voice of experience here. Good luck to you.mjfreespirit, Puppage and darthanubis Thank this. -
It looks to me that you have 3 issues. The backing, the criminal record and the sleep apnea problem. Any one might not be all that bad, but all 3 are. You being let go for non-compliance with your medical issue to me is the worse. While the company is limited on just how it communicates the termination any DAC entry followed with do not rehire raises serious red flags. You should have been briefed on this when you got your CPAP machine. To answer your question, no I don't think your career is ruined or over, but it just might be delayed a bit. I do hope you can overcome all of this and get back to work.Giuseppe Ventolucci, mjfreespirit and Luke628 Thank this. -
With that experience, you should be hirable. Just use the CPAP like you're supposed to. Good luck!
