    Hey,

I have until March 26, 2023 to get my CDL back. I plan on attending a school for a refresher course. My goal is to drive for maybe 5 to 7 years and purchase a house outright. Is this doable? I can not get my CDL back until I get my bariatric surgery which is weight loss surgery until after the new year.

Could be, it depends on your bills, spending habits, and how much your wanting to spend on a house. If your disciplined there's no reason you shouldn't be able to hit your goal.

If an offer is still up on the table meaning I could bunk out at my sister‘s house when I’m home, I think it may be doable. The problem I’m having is I’m on a timeline crunch.

Why do you not currently have your CDL?

Edit: nevermind, just saw why. Always read the entire post before replying eh?

I had to give it up for medical reasons. Fortunately for me I’m able to re-obtain it. I’m looking forward to doing this. I feel like I have the support of my family.

    Should be doable
Depending on your existing bills and your level of commitment

i got an intestinal infection a couple of years ago and the treatment was a week in the hospital, lots of antibiotics and no food for three weeks

I lost 30 pounds in those three weeks .

when I first started driving I was dead broke and highly motivated to make some money
I worked the first 100 days without a day off , and I moved into the truck to save the $165 a month I was spending living in a trailer park . Uh, I mean a mobile home community .
I was able to save a lot of what I earned .

Do you really think you can save several hundred thousand dollars in 5-7 years to buy a house outright?

Rose colored glasses would not do it, much less the dark ones you are wearing.

If you can bank $500/week you'll be at $25k per year x 7 years is $175k. I'm not sure what will be available in 7 years for $175k.

If I can save up at least $100-$200,000 in five years, I’d be golden. I could refinance the house or lease the other $100,000 if I bought a $300,000 house.
