BigBadBill, would it be possible to offer one or two examples of 'new thinking' that you have implement in your business model that might help the 1 truck owner/operator increase profitability. Thanks in advance !

why cancell. what does ooida have to do with your getting scammed for a trailer repair. all they can do is call. and they aren't even obliged to do that.

now, for the scamming. it's against the law for a company to take money out of your paycheck do pay for damages to equipment that you are operating. UNLESS, you have a signed contract that allows them to do such a thing.

if you don't have a contract, then turn them over to the labor commission. and take them to small claims court.

my very fist company i worked for after trucking school. i was so tired of my co driver. i actually drove the trailer into one of them concrete poles before the fuel pump. cut the tire and bent the rim. $500 they kept. 13 years ago. back then it was J in st. george utah. today is pilot. and the pole is still bent. albeit straightened somewhat.

Every time I see that pole I wonder who did that. Right after thinking who was the fool that designed those roundabouts.

First thing is to question everything you have learned as "common" knowledge. Some may be correct, a lot WAS correct but more has been changing in this industry than most are will to accept.

The other thing is service. What most talk about as a "hassle" is typically something small that cost you nothing.

Finally, do not have the attitude that all brokers are looking to rip you off. Until they prove themselves to be unreliable, treat them with respect and like a business partner that has a pot of gold only available to the best carriers. This attitude has us running much differently today than we did back in January because of the opportunities that have opened up.

No, all truckers. No one has had the ability to bring us together to stand up for all this nonsense. It is easy to pass the buck but to stand up and say we screwed up across the board seems out of reality any more.

I agree with what you posted.

So tell me this and it is in a friendly question.

If you have trucks willing to go the extra mile for you, keeping the customer in mind and customer service a high priority. Do they find a better place with you?

    BigBadBill Thanks this.

I would say that is something better answered by our drivers.

I will say that our dedication to being a premium carrier is not just about with the customer but also for our drivers.

Just for shi% & giggles i checked out ITS for the bond. 75,000 bond is 5000 first year and 3000 each year after(with good credit,no past claims, ect) 10,000 cash upfront and it's 3000 a year, don't have to pay the 2000 signup fee. People will have to get that money back from someone, guess that would be the truck.
