Hey Icecold, I am starting Prime psd next monday. I want to start in Tanker but my recruiter said they don't do Tanker. What is the truth? Can I do my first year in Tanker or no?
Thanks
Is Prime still training with standard transmissions?

Yes you absolutely can do your first year in tanker. A lot of it also depends on where you live though. Where are you from?

As heavy as traffic is, automatic transmissions are a blessing.

Thanks for the reply Icecold,
Really I can!!! wow. I am from Houston Texas (west side). I am getting on the greyhound this Wednesday to start Orientation this Friday. So I guess my recruiter just got it wrong then. Recruiters say anything I guess.
So what would you suggest I do to make sure I can start off in tanker?
Wondering why it matters where the psd lives too.
Thanks -
Problem is that many states will brand you with an automatic restriction if you train and test in a truck with an automatic transmission. This is severely limiting if you don't plan to retire with Prime, or want to move to a company that isn't 100% automatics.JayOli Thanks this.

Are you over the road or dedicated?

Are you over the road. I am going to Prime Tanker in Sept for training. I am from central ohio.
