Driving OTR I'm sure you'll take plenty of photo's. The two go together. Your experience ought to produce some great shots. We have a photo forum with some talented members showing some awesome pictures. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/truckers-photo-shack-art-gallery/
It's a good idea to keep a little black book or keep up a resume with all your employment information. With the high turnover rate some truckers change jobs many times in 10 years.
It's 3 years for a new hire with no experience but when you are subject to the FMCSA regulations employers are required to do a 10 year background check.
The reason being is in the old days if a trucker lost his license he would just go to the next state and get another. Technology advances have pretty much prevented that but the old rules still apply. Some companies instead of figuring who's who will require 10 years for everyone.
Any tax records will suffice or even a business license. Any lengthy unemployment with no proof is usually covered by a notarized statement from a neighbor.
