I use to run the 910 as well. Only time I left was if I needed more miles and they needed a load delivered. One thing I found out from my DM was stay out of the west, cause once your there 1) your out of their planning area, 2) you have a hard time getting out, and boy is this true. I can't tell you how many times I ended up getting suckered into taking a load to Cali, and having to sit for days just to get a load going back to my own area.

And I will call Bs on the miles as well. This economy is so bad, not even most seasoned drivers are getting that kind these days.

Your one of the few then who gets the miles good. But don't make it sound like other drivers are slackers and need to pull up their britches and work hard. Many of these big out fits go threw DM like they do drivers. Most of the DM or FM, they use come straight out of college, and have no experience what so ever in the trucking industry. IMO if your going to be in charge of a fleet of drivers, then you should have no less then 5yrs of OTR driving under your belt..

Ive been with swift for six months today actually, and dont have any gripes or problems with them. I run the midwest regional and before thanksgiving I was getting 2800 to 3000 miles a week. But since then ive been getting 2000 to 2800 a week. But freight is slow its that time of year, and alot of people both at truckstops and also on this site complain and talk alot of crap about swift who have never worked for them, and just talk on hearsay. They arent that bad they run things basically the same as any large company like schneider, pam, heartland, and on an on. So no swift really isnt that bad. They take pretty good care of there trucks, some of the trailers could use some work, and some of the terminals suck but it isnt that bad....... Just my two cents worth..

any company is only as bad as the disgruntled employee or ex employee tells u about there experiences they had or the have heard from someone else.

btw it also works in reverse to. if someone praises a cretin company.

Alot of drivers HATE on SWIFT but swift was cool for the most. I ran with them about 2200 miles weekly otr and was home every 10 days for 3days (usually sitting on cabellas delivery) Swift has soo many drivers and some, change that a lot are less than professional. I was embarrassed by fellow swift drivers with some of the creative antics they tried at shippers or drop sites. I'll put it this way.....each company has the same stack of money to give you. Some give it to you on your check, some through your benefits, others through your equipment. at the end of your run it balances out to basically, if you want to work your check shows. if you want to hang out in drivers lounge or truck stops, your check also reflects. Keep Swift in mind. They have good equipment, facilities, support, and you know they are not going out of business.

I wouldnt jump the gun so fast. When i first started i was green green green,i was a nervous wreck everyday i was calling my trainer with what, why, when, how how how how. my DM at first i wish i had a voodoo doll i cursed the ground he walked on, when the qualcomm would go off my whole body shivered from evil thoughts in my head. um i hated him. i swollowed a ton of crap in the first 3 months solo i mean tons. but i stuck with it and with him, now we seem to get along great, he knows what i need when i need it and it works now. what im saying to you is dont be so quick to hate your DM give it at least 3 months and if things dont change then talk to your terminal manager.i can see most DM's have way to many trucks they deal with per dm way too many.i can see how they would feel having 30 people to deal with or more daily. just give it some time. now i know they arent all bad folks.

    7mouths2feed Thanks this.
