is the $150K-300K a year income for truckers legitimate?

Its not hard to grasp for a O/O. The problem~ I think some are taking the $178k and saying one man can't earn that much money. They don't realize its gross money.

 

I was just stating from my facts and what other folks tell me. We used to pull oversized down into Florida then come back and grab another. $1100 to Micky Mouse. A regular load paid $750 give or take. We would pickup lumber or Sod in Moultrie or Valdosta Ga for $300-$350. With the oversized we didn't fool with the cheap backhauls. Mainly because of the lowboy trailer or we had to race back and get another.

 

There is the problem!

 

Maybe when I get out of truck driving school I can make as much money as you. My trainer told me if I'm good I can make as much as $.25 per mile and be home as often as 2 days every 6 months.

 

I can't get out there and work for every heavy hauler in america but I've been doing this long enough to know what loads pay. The companies turnover percentage tells the biggest story. Maybe the company you pull or are leased with pays real well. I hope they do. I try to incourage everyone to piss on the chicken #### money because it doesn't do the next person getting the job any good.

When you get some experience Celadon will pay you all the way up to .32 a mile and you will earn 1 day off for every 7 days on. They only hire experienced drivers though. You'll have to build your experience before you get the big money

 

I do it like everyone else. I'll need to get a bigger wallet though because I know what will make you happy and I'll put the rest in my pocket.
