I like to drive my full 11 hours, then click the “buffer” button. The handy buffer button allows me to begin the complex 2 hour process of finding a truck stop. If need you can even extend the buffer period longer! What’s most important is that you find comfortable safe haven at the Loves of your choice. :)

If we keep doing the right thing shippers and receivers will have to change.

You do have the right to get to a safe haven, however most of the responses are correct law enforcement is going to tell you to plane better.

I used it to get to a spot after getting boned at the border for 3 hours.

That is factually incorrect. You do not have the right to travel to a safe haven. What you have is a responsibility to get to a safe haven within your legal hours of service.

Starting to feel like a broken record today....
Nothing in the HOS regs about safe haven. That term is reserved for hazmat loads.
There are only a very few exceptions that allow one to go over 11/14 and poor planning is not one of them.

you should be averaging 8.75 a day anyways. if you are driving 11 hours everyday you are doing it wrong.

I once started a thread about this. Running straight 11 hour segments back to back and resetting was said to be more profitable. 11 vs 8.5 daily driving hours
