Is there a company that doesn't work you over 8-9 hours?

OTR driver doesn't have a normal schedule. Some days you drive 11 hours and some days you sit 11 hours waiting to get unloaded.
I drive around 2000 to 2500 miles a week. I don't keep track of waisted time waiting at truckstop or shipper/receiver.

Coming off a 34 with all zeros in recap column is unnerving. I like to rack up at least 40 hours in the first 4 days then back down for the next 3 days to 8 or 9 a day then start getting those big 10-11-12 hour days back then continue to throttle back a little to carry an extra hour or two into the next day if it is needed. Sometimes zero out my 70 two or three days in a row next week at least I know I'm running efficient.

Yeah, let's all teach him how to stop at every truckstop and waste the time he needs to complete a run, so He can stop and take His Whole 10 HR break. This is trucking Son. It's work. Lol!

That is a great reason I am leaving OTR after retiring already.

Im a new driver for Coca Cola Bulk..

I think I found the perfect local trucking/life balancing job..

Typically we work 5 days a week, but we're short-handed at the moment so we run 6 days..

Anyway the hours range from 5-10 hrs a day, depending on your load. Summertime is the busiest and you'll definitely get OT, but in the fall/winter it slows down and you typically get 35-42hrs a week..

But that's my plant here in VA, it might be different somewhere else
