I know what you mean. Last time I was in Cali. was coming out of Washington state and they had I-5 shut-down had to turn around and back-track to the rest area I saw where there was only enough room to park.

Don't know much about coastal snow in western states, but it's a lot different here in Colorado than it was in the eastern states. It does tend to be a bit more powdery here, but we get wet snows in the later portion of the Winter season.
The air here isn't nearly as humid... I work outside when it's in the 20s and 30s, and the dryness makes it possible... I'd have been hating life if I had to do that in Mississippi humidity.

I don't get people here in this state especially here on the west side of the state they drive so fast and careless. Then have the nerve to look at somebody when they drive slow. I take my time laugh at me but insurance is too high in Michigan.

    :biggrin_25523:...funny thread.

Well we have the record for deepest snowfall here in Washington state so I guess I'll chime in.

Powder happens anywhere if it's cold enough,it's just that simple.
Now more importantly.........don't eat the yellow snow!

After Mountnt Rainier, Mount Baker is the most heavily glaciated of the Cascade Range volcanoes; the volume of snow and ice on Mount Baker (0.43 cubic miles or 1.8 cubic kilometers) is greater than that of all the other Cascades volcanoes (except Rainier) combined. It is also one of the snowiest places in the world; in 1999, Mount Baker Ski Area, located 14 km (8.4 mi) to the northeast, set the world record for recorded snowfall in a single season—1,140 inches (95 feet or about 30 meters)

Snow in Colorado depends on the time of year, Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec. snow is generally "dry" and fluffy. From mid-Jan. til May it's heavy and wet.
