Well whatever, i do not run east, and do not ever plan to, in fact I don't drive outside of the seattle region anymore and go home every night. So truck stop availability is not a concern for me, other then once a week when I drive a route to Yakima and take my lunch break at Flying J I do not use truck stops anymore
Is there a Driver Shortage?

I didn't even complain about it, I just remarked it seemed like mainly an eastern problem because I ran OTR for a year out west and never had an issue. I made decent money running west, make even better money never leaving sight of Puget Sound.
I can do the lifestyle, but why when I.dont have to? -
i think in all fairness, we both "can do the lifestyle", but like you, i too am home daily, but i do however need a truckstop for fueling, and at the hour(s) i show up there, it's always an easy-in, easy-out time.. my company once had an on-sight fueling company, but they do charge m ore for that service.

Why do you think people work for that? $1200/week jobs are a dime a dozen in the mid west.

Experience?! Not in this climate. A paltry 6 months will get at least $60K now-a-days.
Opportunities for newbies are so darn good - I'm thinking about starting a recruiting business.truckon Thanks this.
