DM Bowman--small family company -
They have a "very" small terminal/drop yard in indy--not sure i would call it a terminal--its not big enough for that!
-
If they are small they probably will let you, it's the bigger ones.
It's to the companies benefiet if they teach you how to do it.
It helps deliver them loads on time -
Ya they are pretty small--they have 6 terminals on the east coast. Their biggest revenue dont come from the trucking side. I think they own half of maryland though!

Why is no one participating! Even if you know why it's legal I want you to respond or why it's not legal! It's great to help out newbies that may not know or those who might want to learn! Come on everyone participate with the teacher

Well, since you dragged me into this, here's the answer.
There's a violation beginning at 20:00 hrs. because the driver was driving beyond the 14th hour.
To prevent it, you could have done three things.
1. Spent 4 more hours in the sleeper after 14:15pm
2. Stopped driving at 20:00.
or
3. Never logged that four hour nap, and pray you didn't have anyone look at your book before 21:15. So, at 21:30 when you were doing this log, your log would actually go from line 3 to line 4 for 15 minutes at 17:15.
All of these steps would make this log legal, when only looking at the 11/14 and split breaking as you mentioned.
-
Which one are you referring to? I wanted you to reply to all the examples and listen and listen closely!
Did you know a drivers opinion of a "legal log" is NOT LEGAL! he/she logs what they log as legal (not what they actually did) and if they are in an accidnet they can be held accountable for that accident and put in prison!
Seriously read many stories of drivers falsifying their logs to make it "legal" and now they are in prison or just flat out lost their licences to drive that truck.
So please log it as you did it! Don't Make it LOOK LEGAL because looking legal "isn't lega" and can cause you many heartaches later on in life. It's just like drug dealing, one day you will get caught. It may be the 2nd day you start or 2 years after you start drug dealing. It's all the same
I understand why you do it, I just don't understand why you don't learn how to split break so you can make miles and delivery on time
-
I was referring to the very first one you posted. I didn't know you put more than one log on here. Also, if I'm logging something after the fact, I've obviously not been in an accident. Secondly, I know how to split break. I just don't do it because showing 11/10/11/10 is easier. Finally, I'm sick of you comparing anything about logs to low life drug dealers. There's nothing similar in your comparison and I'm not the same as a drug dealer by running what I'm capable of running.
-
I am sorry I offended you! A drug dealer is doing something against the federal law and a driver running illegal is just about the same you are taking the same risk and that risk is prison.
I am glad you know how to split break, one less driver I must train.
This was a thread on trying to help drivers understand the regulations and working together to get others to understand them. I wanted those experienced to help get the non-experienced to understand the HOS and wanted you to be part of this
.
Sorry I offended you but I am not here to help drivers alter their logs, but I am here to help them understand how they can do it legally.
