I never really found the throttle response on the 60 Series to be very sensitive. Now the ISX is a completely different story......

    SAR and Oxbow Thank this.

    Well... To update my post.
I ended up bring it to our mechanic to have them look at it. Been doing business with them as long as I can remember.
They plugged it in to check the specs and setting on the truck. While revving at 2% (I'm not missing a zero here) the truck revved to 1700 rpm, and at 0% (barely pressing on the throttle) it revved to 1500 rpm. They checked the revlimiter which was set to 2150, and it would only reach 1900. They shut the truck off and unchecked "progressive shifting" to see if it would change anything.
Here is where it gets interesting.
They started the truck back up to see if they could now reach the original revlimiter, and they did, but it didn't stop there. After they let off the throttle it continued to climb. The motor started to run away. He turned the key off and it still continued to climb. So he forced it into gear and killed the motor, but this also caused the driveshaft to twist like a pretzel and snap.
So... As of right now, the truck is still in the shop. 20171019_105358.jpg 20171019_105337.jpg

Holy crap. That's some crazy stuff right there. Something is seriously wrong.

I would check fuel pressure and see what it's sitting at. I'm wondering if the restrictor fitting in the back of the head is plugged . Causing excessive fuel pressure.
It's a shame your mechanic had to do that, let's hope your driveline is the ONLY thing broken.

Have you had this truck since new? Has it always been like this? Or is this something that just developed over time.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

    WILD!!!!

A runaway engine is one of my biggest fears when doing engine work. Never had it happen to me yet apart from a stuck throttle linkage (in which the fuel cutoff was also seized).

    Oxbow Thanks this.

With this new event I'm thinking the ECM has gone nuts

I've never heard of an electronic engine doing running away

    Oxbow Thanks this.

    Got the truck back yesterday.
After changing out the ecm there was no change. Put the old ecm back in and change the injectors. Problem fixed.
Own the truck three weeks. First week was getting it set up, second week we had one of our drivers in it. Last week I was running it.
