Yep the way a real man would handle this is to jackknife the trailer and when it hits the cab push it hard enough to knock the cab off the frame. Am I right? Like to see her explain why she allowed that one to happen.

What the heck can be that important to be on the phone constantly.Danny I would suggest getting to school alittle earlier tomorrow and talk to the director. You're paying good money in return you need a good instructor.

As a state of Michigan licensed instructor for five years I can not keep from asking what school this is you are attending. If you are shy and don't want to post it here, which you should not be, you can send me a PM.

    Hey all,

Thanks for the input. Things actually worked out pretty well. The day got off to a rough start though. She has her side too, and I'm sure she was telling her friends about the A-hole who's a hot head. She said they could hear my cussing across the street. I'm not disputing that.

So this AM the first we see each other its confrontational. She's saying I need to learn to be patient. I tell her I wasn't upset at not getting it (though that was some of it, it's not a cuss fest just when I mess up), it was because she was sitting there for an hour yappin on the phone and I wasn't getting any help when she was right there.

I brought my tablet and told the other guy if she was gonna be on the phone all day, I could bring up videos and we could learn that way. Glad it didn't happen because I couldn't get YouTube figured out. It's different on a computer than a tablet. On my tablet YouTube gives me choices of what to see, but no place that I could find to type anything in to see what I want. Believe it or not, Semi Truck backing up isn't one of the choices YouTube recommends for its viewers.

She said something snippy to me, I replied with "I'm gonna start calling you the operator since you're on the phone all the dang time." The other guy in class got a laugh out of that. I actually did say that w/ a smile and not hostile. Think of Al and Peg Bundy arguing with that one.

So then we talked. I made her a deal. I won't get mad if she stays off the phone. With a few exceptions like ugrent, quick things, she stayed off. If it was like that the whole few weeks I would have never made the original post. It was easily the best day for us in 3 weeks. The other guy felt the same way. Easily our best day since we started. She was out there giving instruction. We messed up some of course, but at least she was on top of it.

I improved because I had some help. I almost did a full offest backing with no pull ups. Took that puppy back to about the 3rd cone. I needed just one pull up on that one. It was pretty much a straight line back up after that. That was my best one of the day. I messed up some after that where I needed like 8 pull ups, but overall I felt I'm headed in the right direction. Some I got pretty good, a couple where she said I would have lost 0 points, but also some were definite not so goods. On one of them I had the tractor/trailer facing west when our course was a north/south course. Oops!

The other student got his straight line backing down (he wasn't there yesterday). Another driver stopped by and gave us some pointers. Those helped quite a bit. He also told us about how it took him 1.5 hours for one of his first back ins at a real dock. Inside dock, snowbank to shorten his space, only 4 inches of clearance, no lighting, and metal poles on the side. He finally gets into the dock and the S&R guy tells him he didn't get the record. That was a pretty good story.

The school is Samba Express. It's in Warren, Michigan. I'm fine with naming it. I just didn't think about it when I originally posted. Sorry about that. If every day was like today, I'd have been on here posting that I was going to a pretty good school. Interesting at how things can change so quickly. Then again, I'm fully aware that they can change back.

For today though it was a pretty good day. Thanks again for all the input.
