Met some guys coming to orientation. Took everyone out to dinner (I was actually scouting for talent). Everyone brags about the loads they've pulled...how big, how heavy...etc. I've seen it a million times. That's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the gunfighter. See, in the westerns, the fast gun never advertises. Which one of these guys is the fast gun? When they start talking about the color ink they have to use in Alabama and Georgia, I know they're the rookies. I tell everyone, "know anything about the military? Name, rank and serial number only." They hear me, but they don't listen. They get a securement test. Half of them fail. The desk jockeys hear the crap every week. One minute, the guy was standing there trying to wow the desk jockeys with his prowess, next moment, he's angry because he failed.
When you're in hostile territory ( and those CDL schools and orientation are brutal), it's "name, rank and serial" only.
is there anybody else?

Welcome to trucking, live with it, don't let it bother you or distract you from learning because it will happen a lot in your future, get your license and get a job.
OH and a bit of another important advice, learn from his mistakes, if he screws up his pre-trip, learn from it, keep in mind on what he missed and avoid it - apply that to everything and you will come out ahead. -
