First off, the details are extremely important. If you want our help and recommendation, you cant be embariced to tell us what happened. many companies only hire experianced with accidents. They dont hire newbies with recent accidents because your to much of a risk. It depends on what happened and how much you were at fault. Were you texting? were you drunk?
Is there hope for me?

No, I was not drunk or texting, I don't drink alcohol and there is no cellular reception where the accident happened. My mom and I went to get some gas at the local gas station and then drive to town because our other vehicle was having an oil change, overall a fairly routine day. On the highway I slowed down to make a left-hand turn into the town, I waited for traffic to clear, I made the turn, and for whatever reason I just didn't see that one vehicle coming. My mom was given morphine for a back injury at the hospital, but aside from that nobody was hurt or killed, just some bruises and aches in my mom.
Before this accident I've never had a speeding ticket, an accident, a parking ticket, or any kind of traffic violation. I don't drink alcohol, I don't own a cell phone, I don't drive with the radio on (I find it distracting), I always wear my seat belt.
I live in central Manitoba, Canada.
I was thinking I could maybe apply to those deck companies, like Big Freight, that offer some kind of training, but I have to admit I am kind of afraid of deck work. In trucking school they showed us these horrible photos of the damage unsecured loads can cause! Quite terrifying I must say. -
Mr. T are u sure the accident is on your mvr
-
No I am not. I haven't looked at it for a month. Just assumed it will be there eventually because I was charged with the accident.

Mr. T
I don't no which month the accident took place but if u think enough time has passed go down to driver control where u live and pull your mvr because u may be in a panic for no reason. My suggestion some may not like it but if it is not on mvr don't tell no more companies about the accident they will not hire u. Its a need to no basis u no they don't. That is if its not on your mvr at least. -
.I don't drive with the radio on (I find it distracting) .
I cannot drive a truck without a radio, I would fall asleep without entertainment.
I had an accident in Independence, MO in 2005. Rear-ended by a drunk driver while stopped on I-70 in road construction traffic. Does not show up on my record. Was filled out by local police and not the state patrol which should not make a difference. The trucking companies will want to know why you have not found a job since last summer though. Tell them you didnt want to be away from home but could not find a local job???????fromm99 Thanks this. -
If he was making a left turn and turned in front of someone they probably cited him for failure to yield. Which im sure would be a big deal to the insurance companies.

if you're comfortable moving(at least temporarily) come west to Sask or Alberta and look for an oilfield driving job.
