Starter companies are pretty easy to get in as long as you are reasonably healthy and your license is not suspended. They are not all equal however. Most are not career companies as it looks like you have established, but some are better then others. Some are better for reasons of location also. Take that into consideration also. The closer to the companies freight lanes, the better. I highly recommend Comcar companies like Willis Shaw and Midwest Coast. You won't get rich, but they treat drivers appropriately and have a culture of safety first, not speed first. Most loads are booked to allow day driving or at least at your chosen sleep schedule. Schneider is also a good place to start. I recommend staying away from companies with a bad reputation of requesting drivers to drive under unsafe methods/equipment. Ones on my personal NO list would be USA, Werner, and Swift. I do accept some have had ok experiences at them, but more often then not, its horror stories that are the majority. Just because its going to be a starter company and not perfect, does not mean it has to be a down right nightmare.

That's the right attitude to have concerning pay and treatment because companies are not going to change and is not going to give you any special treatment. The many ppl that quit before giving trucking a chance is only hurting themselves.Companies could care less if you stay or quit.I don't think your tickets will be an issue since this happened 6 yrs ago.But how fast over the speedlimit on both tickets were you going?

The apps that I filled out asked for any moving violations and accidents in the last 3 years, so I think you're safe. They will check your record before they even schedule you to come in, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Most traffic tickets last for 3 years then go away.. Unless its a failure to appear, DUI, or the high dollar tickets, they stay on longer. Speeding ,unless its going over 15 mph will. I don't know if the over 15 will be longer than 3 years or not. Go to DMV and get a print out before you apply.. Also most accidents go off after 3 years.

Be up front. Tell the recruiter what tickets/accidents you had going back ten years (the longest the DMV tracks). They will ask the appropriate person, and will let you know if there's a problem or not.
