^^ Yes I was just thinking, you should add $300-$400/week for maintenance and repair, I think that is a good ballpark estimate, and then you still have to put away money for a new truck/trailer when this one finally bites the dust. That all comes out of profit, so you might as well take it out of these numbers. So minus another $400, and that will replace your current truck with one valued at around $40,000 with a used trailer.

And then does that $770 include workman's comp insurance and payroll taxes?
Or are you paying him as a contractor?

I'd be surprised if in the long run it profits more than $500 a week.

    BAYOU Thanks this.

I was planning to put back 10,000 reserve fund for repairs and dumb stuff that life brings and save for a spare truck and trailer that I might drive my self. I can kinda drive a truck but I think a formal lesson is needed. I have drove school buses 13years

good tax writeoff when you loose the money

$10k won't touch a motor overhaul. that's about the min on a detroit worst case on a cat could be double that. My buddy just did his detroit for $13k

how long will the truck last before it's worn out and how much will it cost to replace it at that time? divide the later by the former and you need to be putting back that amount. not having a trk payment means you have to put away your truck payment so you can buy the next one with no payment. otherwise you will be taking a loan on the next one and thats putting your business plan in reverse at 60mph
