Should I buy this for about $18 or something else?

I haven't had good luck with them. They are hit and miss for being anywhere close to accurate.

If you have a built in SWR meter on the radio it will be slightly better. Or even just a high SWR warning light on the radio? Just tuning the antenna enough to get the warning light to go out is good enough for a while. It doesn't make that much of a difference, well, untill you know you want it to, if that makes sense.

I have been burned by the cheap meters a few times. Sometimes they work ok.

    18 is cheap enough though.

Not going to recommend an expensive meter either. It's really not worth the cost for the return. unless you get that bug up your but and want to do it.

Yeah, if you don't have any SWR indication on the radio then I would but it.

I've had good luck with them. Everybody needs something to know how their equipment is working.

Play with them for 18 bucks. Pass the time. Find out how to make needle go that way alot.

Then learn why. Maybe as simple as buying a CB shop grouchy a cup o' coffee and a dab out of the silver flask for school time from him telling you why needles do this or that in each meter. (In a way you can understand)

College is for those who cannot do. But you have a oppertunity. Maybe unlock something inside of you to be the next radio king.

I ended up buying a simple SWR meter. Works for me. What analyzer do you suggest?

Gosh they're pricey! Does Ray's shop in West Memphis, AR have an analyzer?
