Are you turning down short mile loads? Are you one of those guys that tells your DM I am not going to "insert city name here"? Swift is a large company with lots of freight, I find it very hard to believe that they would let one of their trucks just sit for days without moving something. Obviously there is more to this story than what you have told. Without knowing the ENTIRE story, your request for advise is rather pointless.

pathfinder1361 Thanks this.

Many of you guys are expressing many of the thoughts that I would have voiced here. There IS MORE to his story than he is saying, or it could be a trolling post, only time will tell.
Yeah, his kids getting beat up in school, sure fire way to relent responsibility back to Swift. -

Wow, thanks for all the hostility people! I try to find a place to get information bc I don't know other truckers to ask and this is what I get. The comment about my kids was not meant to say it was swifts fault only to say that I don't make enough with them to move from where I ended up bc of the lack of wages. I was NOT mistakenly rehired as one of you lovely people mentioned, I took a leave of absence to help my family move and my DM never took me off it so it showed up as a no call no show. Which they terminated me for. I was calling everyday and my DM said he was trying to find me a truck (mine was broken, I turned it in to wait for a new one and I found out months later they wouldn't assign me one bc I was no longer employed and I had to start everything over) My DM was not doing his job and they fired him, rehired me, and I have a new DM. This new guy has sent me to CA twice now and I've sat for a week in a parking lot with no facilities bc they wouldn't let me move my truck empty. I just asked if it's swift or if it jsut takes a few years to make anything with an OTR job. I didn't realize this was a forum for Drama, I thought it was where people could get information.

Sorry if I didn't write a 5 page letter detailing every aspect of my life for you guys in order to get a question answered. I left stuff out bc it wasn't important, all I wanted to know is if the trucking industry is hard to break into and I should stick it out or if I need to look for something else bc I can't support my family on what I'm getting now.
