2 things I tell every newbie. And it seems to hold true. Buy a truck.
    Never lease a truck ever.
You gotta make it 15 months. After those 15 months its like the devil stops chasing you and every thing gets easier.

    Zoltan1a and Delanshev Thank this.

    Covenant?

If you don’t want to say the name, tell us what city they are based out of. Or a funny word that rhymes with the company name. Just be careful. I heard in another thread there are microphones in the ELD and they are always listening. :biggrin_2559:

    Oh
    You’ll learn pretty quick ,
In trucking , that your dispatcher will lie quite frequently.
It’s almost like the are a politician or something .

you should definitely text or email and confirm the amount

but getting $100 a day to watch movies in a motel is not too bad .

things will get better, after you finish training. hopping to different trainers is only going to make the process take longer.

Boondock, tscottme and Delanshev Thank this.

The shortest distance between you and the your solo truck is finish training with your current trainer. I would finish with your current trainer. It's so much easier when you get into your solo truck.

    Delanshev and Boondock Thank this.

That is the wisest thing I've read on the internet all day. I mean that. Why start paying for the truck expenses now when you need to learn the job first.

I got that per day as a flat rate of pay when I was on a trainer's truck. Didn't matter whether I drove 5 miles or 500 miles.

$100 a day to hang in a hotel room sleeping and watching TV sounds like a luxury.

So at this point I don't know who is telling the truth (the driver manager or the mentor)....all I know is I'm still in this room waiting. This company have delayed my "training" by almost 2 weeks. I want to just give up....I'm so upset!!! I simply was hoping to get a stable job being a truck driver so I can live a decent life and not live in poverty. But This company has proven to me that they don't care about the livelihood of ppl. I read and listened to all the reviews about this company and many said NOT to go but I believe in giving the "benefit of a doubt" and I must say Today that I regret coming to this company and I would advise ppl to stay away. To ppl who want to get their CDL my suggestion is save money and pay for your CDL yourself, DO NOT go thru a company sponsored training ESPECIALLY if they require you to drive as teams.
