When l pulled a kit l always loaded shotgun when possible. Using safety binders it was faster and safer. Pull toward the inside of the trailer. That way if the bar slipped the board would catch you. Plus it was easier to unchain and get ready at the receiving custoner without opening the kit. Or check the chains on the way. Or squeeze past a 70" wide coil lol. The other part is that shot gun is easier on the trailer imo because its spread out further on the trailer. That's if you have a steel haulers trailer like james mentioned. Our 6 axles had 12" crossmembers and stub crossmembers every 6" from landing gear to rear of the triple. There was a reason we weighed 47,000lbs empty!

    Thanks for the photos.

I called ahead for my delivery said I could be there by 4. They said they would still unload me. I didn’t think to tell them I didn’t have tires. Needless to say they weren’t excited to have to take off tires on another combine to unload me at 4pm. lol

The guys at Case in Leland, MS are a class act. They stayed late to unload me and helped drag my chains to the headache rack for me to put away.

I included some loads from the last week. The header picture wasn’t my load it was the guys next to me but I had the same thing. Not a camera guy.

Did you pick that cultivator up in Valley City?
I'm surprised Case wasn't aware that you didn't have tires with you. Except for the RGNs with the flip, GI has been sending tires and crates separately for years.

Yes, Valley City. I’m not going back there till the snow has melted. Not trying to be a whiner but man that trailer had 3 weeks of snow on it and it’s a pain enough as it is trying to chain it with no snow (as far as climbing on the load and hooking a chain to it).

My truck is pretty heavy as it is, then the newer rgns are 2,000 lbs more with the aluminum slide outs I’m glad I didn’t have the tires. I think the dealer was just frustrated because they already had one on blocks because they had to steal tires off of it for another combine and then they had to put a second on blocks to unload mine.

I was almost disappointed I had home time scheduled this week, Laredo was actually really decent for load selections for the first time in awhile.

You got lucky with that VC load. Normally they're a mess of boxes and loose parts...kinda like a Case Goodfield load. Went

I didn’t feel lucky lol. It had what I would call drive shafts on the deck but they were the easy part.

Nothing was hard I just didn’t want to slip and fall off the trailer.

Just be glad you were not here a year or so ago. Washington state patrol was making a big deal about bungees being used as securement. Someone asked about tarps being used on a load. The office actually was telling us every tarped load needed straps over it. I’m glad that guy went back to drivers services and stoped giving securement advice before people started really damaging some loads. The customer would be pretty upset if we strapped over these loads.

Ever see a tarp held down by bungees fly off? I have. In Wyoming. o_O Don't know if a strap would've helped that fella or not...
