You would put 2 or 3 more chains on each corner?

The way you have it now if you have a failure on one side you have a failure on both sides.

Thank you all. That's how we did it last time when I hauled 2x water trucks (2 chains with 4 binders connected to stake pockets). I didn't realize the binders HAD to be connected to the trailer to use 2 chains per hoe. Also I see the issue where if it slides to one side it will just pull slack from the other side.

This is why I ask lol. I never had any formal training with flatbed and even less so with chaining ewuipment ... so I ask stupid questions and have no shame in it lmao.

Only time you should feel stupid is when it falls off BECAUSE you didn’t ask any questions....

    No stupid questions here....

I was taught to cross chain anything with rubber on it — haven’t looked it up in the book or had formal training, but the guy that taught me always said the trailer would dump before the load came off. It’s worked so far. Just an idea. Don’t forget to tie the hoe bucket down.

6 chains, one on each corner at the tie down points, one securing the front bucket and one securing the boom. The boom will be stretched out, so it is not over height.
Use stake pockets if the rub rails are not set up to be tie downs
